Three Big Reasons to Choose Microsoft Azure over other Cloud Providers

In the rapidly changing landscape of cloud solutions for business, two leaders stand out above the rest in the marketplace – Microsoft Azure and AWS.

Amazon was first to the market with AWS in 2006, creating the product environment for cloud computing. Microsoft wasn’t far behind, launching Azure in 2010 and quickly gained market share in the space.

Much speculation has taken place around which cloud platform will end up being what Play Bigger refers to as the category king in the market, but it’s much too soon to tell – as each service has certain perks over the other depending on customer needs.

It not difficult to find feature comparisons on the internet comparing Azure and AWS –  don’t worry, we’re not going to repost that type of content in this blog. We thought it would be valuable for you to know that, although our Cloud Platform Engineers support both AWS and Azure, we see Microsoft clients turning to Microsoft Azure for their cloud backup platform.

HERE’S WHY WE SEE MANY BUSINESSES CHOOSING AZURE:

AZURE IS BETTER FOR MICROSOFT SHOPS

  • Businesses that are full-stack Microsoft companies have existing infrastructure that integrates with Azure easily and administrators are dealing with a product that’s familiar to those with experience on other Windows platforms.
  • AWS has many third-party integrations and does support Microsoft products, however, the ease of integration makes Azure an easy choice for Microsoft companies.

BETTER HYBRID CLOUD SOLUTION

  • From its inception, Azure understood the need for hybrid cloud solutions for companies running legacy apps and makes it much easier for those who have partially converted to the cloud. Not to mention on-site Microsoft Servers integrate quite easily with Azure.
  • According to Amazon, AWS is closing the gap on Hybrid Cloud solutions – but right now, Azure is the best hybrid cloud solution.

AZURE SITE RECOVERY (DISASTER RECOVERY)

  • If you dig into comparisons of Azure and AWS, you’ll notice that most features from one solution have a comparable feature, but Azure Site Recovery (ASR) stands alone on Azure’s side of the aisle, AWS is not offering a comparable solution for DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service.
  • Azure Site Recovery can be used for both Azure and hybrid cloud solutions. It’s a nearly constant data replication system that can be restored quickly when a catastrophic disaster happens – an invaluable tool for companies that cannot afford to be without data for an extended period.

SWICKtech supports both AWS, Microsoft Azure and Hybrid Cloud environments. SWICKtech can help you decide which is best for your organization and can help you implement and maintain your cloud solution.
