IT and Employee Productivity

INCREASE EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY WITH THE RIGHT IT TEAM

Productivity is key for organizational success. In fact, according to a study conducted by KRC Research, 76 percent of companies feel improving productivity is a high priority within their organization. However, only 31 percent of those business leaders feel their company is operating as productively as it should be.

The internet is full of articles with employee motivation tips. They highlight good communication and goal setting. While those practices are important, they won’t matter if employees don’t have the resources to complete their work.

The right IT partner can supply these resources, ensuring increased organizational productivity.

Some benefits of a strong IT team are obvious. For example, without a strong IT team, you might see network downtime increase. This can stall processes for hours, days, weeks, or longer. On the other hand, dedicated IT partner will limit downtime and, in the case of a system failure, get organizations up-and-running quickly.

Beyond a strong IT partner, there are a plethora of productivity tools that increase workflow. Microsoft Office 365 has multiple efficiency tools, including simplified remote access, links to value-added software programs, and safer cloud computing. Microsoft Yammer, Mirosoft Teams, Microsoft Skype for Business, or Cisco Jabber provide easy ways to collaborate with clients from anywhere. These productivity tools automate many processes, using less resources, so employees can focus on more important work.

Upgrading to Microsoft Office 365, and properly training employees on the new tools, will give your organization access to these key resources. (Many organizations struggle with the decision to upgrade their Office environment. Although this can be a complicated undertaking, it doesn’t have to be.)

After putting productivity-driving processes in place, it’s also important to regularly measure organizational productivity practices and identify areas of improvement. According to research from Salesforce, many organizations already recognize this challenge, with 55% of IT teams indicating increasing employee productivity their core focus area. In fact, 62% of those teams believe they will see an increase in spending on productivity software over the next two years.
