New Building IT Consulting - Case Study
Brookfield Wisconsin Investment Firm looks to SWICKtech for IT and Technology Consulting for new building
Where do you begin when you're thinking about turning a grocery store into a high-tech investment firm? You have to begin with a vision and a plan for execution. It's exactly what a Brookfield, Wisconsin-based capital investment firm did in 2018 when they contacted SWICKtech to be their IT consultants for this project.
The firm saw business success in a rebounding economy and investigated it's options for moving to a new location, having outgrown its old office space nearby. An old grocery store showed great promise for the growing business and had the potential to deliver the needed accommodations if extensive renovation and IT work was done to the building. Leadership at the firm desired modern office amenities, conference rooms and workstations for the more than 40 employees working there.
The major challenge in this project was taking - what was essentially a big empty space - and installing the infrastructure to accommodate cubicles and offices throughout.
An extensive amount of electrical, network infrastructure and structured cabling had to be installed around the building. A new server room was built and proper equipment was installed to meet the needs of the office. Also, switches and wireless infrastructure were installed in to provide uninterrupted Wi-Fi access for guests and employees.
After several months of planning, working with contractors and executing on the project, the investment firm moved into their new facility without any major technical hiccups.
Even though this project was ambitious, leadership reached out early on in the planning process to an IT partner to be sure proper technical considerations were being made along the way.
