Leveraging New Technology - Case Study
SWICKtech Helps Milwaukee Bakery Grow into Nationally Recognized Brand
A Milwaukee bakery, family-owned for nearly 100 years, partners with SWICKtech to leverage technology to grow rapidly into restaurants and grocery chains around the United States.
For nearly its entire existence, the kosher bakery has been headquartered in Milwaukee, producing a variety of high-quality pastries and breads for Wisconsinites. About 10 years ago, the company found extraordinary success with one of its buns, garnering interest from restaurants that wanted to feature the product.
Beginning as a side-venture of the company, the bakery saw a need to increase production of the bun to meet the new demand. The bakery brought in SWICKtech IT experts to diagnose the needs and implement new technology.
SWICKtech engineers helped the leadership team lay the foundation for software and redundancy options to ensure production to run at any time of the day.
Vetting several software and consulting firms, SWICKtech helped the bakery land on an ERP system that would be the basis for technology improvements across the board. SWICKtech helped implement CRM software, improved barcode scanning operations, manufacturing software, line cameras for quality inspection, real-time reporting software and other capabilities for both sales and production.
The bakery has been able to successfully meet increasing production and distribution demand for its product, increasing its workforce and now can be found in restaurants and grocery stores around the United States.
“We haven’t had any major IT issues,” said the Controller at the bakery. “It is because all of the upgrades and investments in technology that we’ve done with SWICKtech’s help and recommendations.”
