Microsoft Patch Management
- Desktop patch deployment occurs every Thursday through Monday between 11 PM and 3 AM. If a Desktop is unavailable patch deployment will be rescheduled to the next available deployment window.
- Patches are deployed in low priority mode. We recommend at least a six hour patch deployment window. Even with this extended patch deployment window, patches may still fail to deploy requiring the patch deployment window to be extended.
- Many patches require a system reboot to install successfully. Systems selected to not automatically reboot will continue to be vulnerable to exploits until reboot. Patch assessments will continue to reboot installed patches as missing if the patch requires a reboot to be effectively installed.
